Cheers

It’s 3am and I’m still full from Christmas dinner, much like a lot of you. As per tradition every Christmas Eve, a couple of my friends and I had dinner out at Italianni’s (it stays open past midnight, till around 1 am). They usually don’t drink much, but we always have wine during our noche buena as our way of celebrating. Usually we have a shiraz, but this year, we decided to be brave and try a chianti, which none of us have had before. It was yummy yum yum. And so was the food. I hope you all had as much fun tonight, in the company of people you love.

Happy holidays, everyone! Cheers.

Passive-agressive note-writing, part 3: To myself, at 4am

Dear self:

It’s 4am. Please, you need to sleep now. You have Career Camp at St. Paul on Friday that starts early in the morning, you need to adjust your sleeping schedule appropriately as early as now.

Love,
T

NY’s greetings, from R. in SK, after having lost his L.

So my friend R. was in South Korea for a few hours’ layover a couple of days before the new year, and he sent me a New Year’s Day card he bought at the airport. He usually sends me postcards from the different places he visits (I have one from Latvia!), but the only postcards available had to be purchased by set, so he sent me a card instead. You know how Koreans are obsessed with cuteness? Well, this one was totally cute.

New Year's greeting card

I only got it the other day. For the past few weeks, R. had been asking me if I’d gotten the card, and we thought the airport people must’ve not posted it because R. was yelling at them earlier for having lost his luggage. Also, in the card, he wrote something that S.Koreans wouldn’t find very funny (yeah, he was really upset about his luggage). Anyway, I’m planning to go to South Korea later this year. Going to buy me a whole bunch of greeting cards for sure.

I’m sorry

.. but I just had to buy all the Big Bang clear files they had at Space Encounters today. It was selfish of me, I admit. I know there are P.V.I.P.s out there who might want to have the chance to buy one of these, and I denied them that chance. But I just couldn’t ignore the look in T.O.P.’s beautiful eyes asking me to please take him home.

At Ocean World

My friends R and L from Zamboanga City are staying over for a few days at my place. They absolutely insisted that we go to Ocean Park. I had no idea what that was, but I agreed to go anyway. Wow, it turned out to be a really fun experience. I fell in love with all the fish. And the crocodiles. They actually had to drag me away from the shark tank when it was time to go.

This is me with the sting ray. I’m calling him Bob.

And me by the shark tank.

There was a little boy who kept pointing to the top of the tank at a shark and saying, “Look, it’s a shark!” I kept telling him, “Sweetie, they’re ALL sharks,” but he wouldn’t believe me.

I apologize for the crappy lighting. They keep it dark in there, the better to see the fish. And we weren’t allowed to use flash. Although they weren’t so strict about it, as there were some morons who used flash anyway, and no one stopped them.

A ticket for the oceanarium (?) costs PhP 400 (around $10). It’s totally worth it. Go check it out. And say hi to Bob for me.
