So apparently I get a nice view of Makati City’s New Year fireworks display from my kitchen window. Here you go. They could’ve been better, but I didn’t know my camera had a setting for fireworks, silly me.

Lunar eclipse! A blue moon (that's not really blue)!

Folks in Europe, Africa, and Asia can say goodbye to 2009 by viewing a very slight lunar eclipse on the last day of the year: Thursday, December 31. The event lasts for about an hour starting at 18:52 UTC, with deepest eclipse, such as it is, at 19:22.
