Yes, I’m up

On September 1, 2010 / By tania / In Food, Living / No Comments

So I just absent-mindedly poured cold water into my coffee cup. This whole waking-up-before-nine-am thing is clearly not for me. Except I got some news last night which got me so excited I decided to go to bed ‘early’ at 2am and continue work in the morning. So here we are.

On the other hand, I get to be awake in time to order breakfast from McDo — sausage and egg mcmuffin and pancakes, which, together with fried chicken and ice-cream, are the only things I can stand eating at that place.

Also, I finally have time to get the a/c cleaners to work on my unit before I have to leave for work.

Hmmm. Maybe I should do this more often.

Gaeran mari!

On July 6, 2010 / By tania / In Eating out, Food / No Comments
So I finally found a korean place for my gaeran mari fix. It's ridiculous, really. I saw someone eating it a few times on TV, and I thought it looked really good. Then I saw this place at the food court that had it, and oh my, it tasted just as good as it looked.

Girl at counter: "I'm sorry, we only have Sausage McMuffin and Egg McMuffin. We're out of Sausage and Egg McMuffin." Me: "Can't you take a Sausage McMuffin and put an egg in it?" GAC: "No."

How not to poach an egg

On January 23, 2010 / By tania / In Cooking, Food, Living / No Comments
I was feeling a bit adventurous one day, so I decided that it would be the day I'd try poached eggs. Not try eating them -- I've had them a few times at restaurants, and I really liked them -- but cooking them. From what I've heard and read, they're a bit trickier than, say, boiled eggs, so as with any enterprise with the potential for disaster, I took photos.

Egg #1:
First I boiled some water, adding a dash of white vinegar.

Fruity

On October 21, 2009 / By tania / In Drink, Food / No Comments
I have never been really fond of fruit. Fruit for me is something you put in cakes and whatnot to give flavor and sweetness. I don’t even like fruit ice-cream as much as I do ice-cream flavored with chocolate, caramel, nuts and other non-fruit things. (Favorite: vanilla) And it’s not even just a matter of

That's why they have all that yogurt

On April 11, 2009 / By tania / In Eating out, Food / 4 Comments
Just got back from a great dinner at New Bombay in Glorietta. Y. and M. wanted to order all the dishes mild, but I managed to politely convince them into agreeing to have them make the Tawa Gosht spicy (“What are we, pussies?”). We expected we would be screaming for milk* after a few bites,
